Descend 180 meters (590 feets), explore the Zipaquira Salt Cathedral and discover all the symbols behind the stations of the cross. Enjoy the best view of the main altar and the biggest underground cross from the Choir. Keep going down until you reach the main naves, that represent the birth, life and death of Jesus.
This catholic temple is all enlightened by red, blue and purple lights, that summons to prayer and silence. That’s why we know it as the cathedral of light and salt. However, the story of the mines goes back to the times when our indigenous community, the Muiscas, controlled the land and the salt.
